Film Production Stages

If you’re not used to film production then it may seem a little daunting to commission a video for your business. Well it’s safe to say there isn’t too much to worry about if you’re hiring a professional to create your story as they will take care of the vast majority of the strain. That’s why I wrote this blog to help you understand the simple steps when it comes to film production.

 

Brief

First things first, I get to know you, your brand, your goals and ideas. To ensure you get exactly what you want, I need to get to know you and the desired audience for your film. I like to work with you and plan in detail the whole film production, ensuring any issues are solved before filming starts. I then provide you with a brief for the project and we agree on key dates and stakeholders in order to hit your deadlines.

 

Concept

For this stage, I lock myself away to develop and define your story. Research, brainstorming, script writing and storyboarding takes place to refine the structure and feel of your film before it enters production. I will be in constant contact with you throughout this phase with questions and to make sure I’m on the right track. I also make sure all of the logistics for the shoot are in place.

Script writing, planning, idea generation, concept development, film production, sourcing actors & presenters and even finding location.

 

Production

My favourite part, having planned and designed the whole project, I start shooting your film production. It’s important that I work closely with you during this stage. With a clear visual style in mind and years of experience I make sure every shot enhances your final film.

Studio or location filming & sound recording, HD single or multi-camera, film production, 3D graphics and animations.

 

Post Production

Once production has been completed, I edit together the first draft of your film production as described in the brief. I then send you an email with a link to a private online screening room where you can view your film and take notes. I work with you to implement your feedback and ensure you get a film production that excites you. I take huge pride in my work and I’m a self confessed perfectionist. Once you have a film production that reaches and exceeds your objectives, I make sure the visuals look great with a spot of colour grading, sound mix the audio so it sounds crisp and add in any graphics to complete your film production. I then send you your film in whichever format you desire.
